Music Review Submissions

Today is an exciting day. Here at the Genera Studios blog i'm going to start reviewing and covering news on music releases submitted to my contact email! As an artist I appreciate how important it can be to get your music in front of as many people as possible, so I wanted to use the platform I have to help do some good for you fellow artists out there! Keep in mind I may also talk about music that i'm into at the moment, or projects by my friends.

Before I tell you how to submit your tracks, I first want to lay down some ground rules...

Rules

• I don't have the time to listen to everything I get sent, i'll try my best but i'm usually a pretty busy person.

• Please be respectful, and value my time. Make my life as easy as possible by providing me with streaming links, preferably YouTube, so I can listen quickly and embed the video directly into my blog. If you send a downloadable file I will not listen to it.

• If you want feedback, let me know and be ready to accept it. I'll always be polite with feedback, but I will be honest. Keep in mind that i'm just one person with my own music tastes.

• Pay attention to the type of music I actually enjoy - Metal (Tesseract, Tool, Periphery, BTBAM), Electronic Genre's (Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, BOC, ), Pop (Illennium, Flume, Glass Animals, Imogen Heap). While overall i'm not very picky and listen to a relatively diverse set of genre's, i'm not the biggest fan of rap and I HATE Country music.

• I don't have any set time-frame for coverage, i'm just going to plan it so it doesn't bury my other content in my blog feed. I may also batch cover new releases if the same fans might like them all.

Submission Format

Eventually i'll likely move to a submission form that puts information into a spreadsheet for me, but for now we'll do this via email submission. Make your email's subject fit the following format to maximize your chance of it being seen, I will be searching my email inbox for 'GS Music Review' every so often when I have time to listen.

Subject: GS Music Review - Song Name by Artist Name (Genre)

Include in email:

• Streaming link - preferably YouTube

• Artist pages you would like me to link to (if applicable)

• Single or album artwork embedded into the email, not as an attachment (if applicable)

• Any other information you would like me to know about, release dates, upcoming releases, news, press, cool facts, etc.

Where to Send?

Send your emails directly to the email address at the bottom of this web page, do not use the contact form. If you can't find it, scroll all the way down to the bottom under where it says 'Contact Us' and use the email listed there. Sorry to not just list it here, but I don't want to attract an army of auto-bots that crawl music blogs looking for email addresses - this is my very minimalistic version of a re-captcha.

I can't wait to hear your music and help you share it with the world. Its hard to get your name out there with so many releases happening every day, but us artists need to stick together and keep pushing. If you ever become super-famous someday, try to remember who helped you out when you started :).
